First, let's cover Kona Brewing Company. I am thrilled to say that this is a true craft brewery. And their beer tastes good. The Longboard Island Lager is very drinkable. I drinkabled many of them. Very light, but fruity and not resembling American-style lagers.
Magic Hat Blind Faith IPA: not an overpowering IPA, which is a good thing. Hoppy, to be sure. A very slight pine note. Far superior to the MH Single Chair from the same assortment.
Fat Tire Amber Ale: shoutout to FoCo. Stronger in flavor than I had expected. But overall, not bad. Still deciding about this one, really. More later.

Big Mistake
I purchased a Magic Hat Assortment tonight, along with a create-your-own 6pk of Sam Adams (by "create-your-own" I mean you mix and match Sam Adams products in a 6 box, and use the self checkout). Much to my dismay, the first beer I chose to open was the Magic Hat Single Chair ("A Golden Beer"). Turns out, a Golden Beer is essentially a light lager. For those of you who do not know, this variety of beer includes Budweiser, Coors, MGD, Dos Equis, etc. Basically, your typical crappy American-tasting beer. More palatable than Natty Light (but then, so is urine) but less so than a beer I would usually choose off the shelf.
Notes on the Magic Hat Single Chair:
-Very slight apple note
-More smooth than Bud, less than Dos Equis
-Would not purchase again
I am washing it down with a Sam Adams Irish Red.
Notes on the Sam Irish Red:
-Bitter
-Nutty, to an extent
-Very Drinkable
